April 30, 2018 at 1:11 pm #16806cheickMemberHi Andrew thanks for the feedback. I have posted a video and I deleted it. But I have posted another one maybe you missed it. This is the link.
April 27, 2018 at 3:17 am #16765cheickMemberHi this is my post for April challenge. Andrew I swear I worked a lot, not totally good learning but I’ve done it. That’s not perfect, can it be ? No…I don’t remember if I thanked you for the feedback you gave me on showcase. I hope to win the banjo and bring blue grass spirit here in France 😂. Thanks for this fingerpicking I had a real pleasure to learn it…
April 22, 2018 at 1:54 pm #16726cheickMemberHi Andrew thanks for the feedback, I’m going to play with you on-screen. I want to post this tune for April challenge, I have one week to get it.
April 18, 2018 at 5:55 am #16695cheickMemberHey Andrew ! I hope you’re going better.
This is an attempt to play fingerpicking 11; without talking about my eternal rhythm issues, I have many problems with this tune. The transintion from bar 12 to 13 is totally awful, I’m not able to mute G string with my palm hand, and my right hand is full of imprecision. Maybe there is something good on it I don’t know ! I know that you will prepare a low G lesson, but I played this tune with my low G uke and it sounds good, doesn’t it ? Ok thanks for feed back. Take care !
April 7, 2018 at 8:03 am #16620cheickMemberHi ! Ok I will do that, thanks.
April 5, 2018 at 2:19 am #16600cheickMemberYeah I can be hard on myself but I’m still keeping up. Two (3) last questions please; I set the metronome up like this : 4/4 with 16th notes so if I understand well 16 bits per mesure, is that good ?
And I have some little bad sounds when I lift my fingers from strings, like a unwanted pull-off how can I fix it ?
Ok I will try to simplify it. I struggle the same with Fingerpicking 11 do I have to simplify it too ?
Thanks for encouraging words, that’s always appreciated 😉April 4, 2018 at 4:29 pm #16598cheickMemberHi thanks for replying.
I tried to be on the beat, but that was not good. I do not have good ears, that is why I am bad on rhythm and why I can’t hear that I am not on it, it’s like a vicious circle 🙁 . Thanks for the tips for slowing down the video to hear me shiftting from the beat. I will work on it. You’re right metronome is our best friend. I left the metronome behind me for too long, now I can see how I was wrong and all the work I have to do.
Thanks for feedback, you’re cool !March 23, 2018 at 2:32 pm #16297cheickMemberHi Drew my question is about practice. How you practice ukulele and what kind of routine works very well for you ? Do you practice some tips all the times or only when your create a lesson ? And how can I conserve the learned techniques ? Hope that my question’s clear, English is not my best but I work hard to come to Uke Républic one day.
March 19, 2018 at 2:59 pm #16200cheickMemberGreat!! thanks for fast answer. Ok I understood for the play-along. I’am swinging the eight notes because I’m bad on rythmic, sadly, it was not in my intention 🙁 Ok I’mgoing to work on it for the week. Thank you.
March 19, 2018 at 2:09 pm #16198cheickMemberHi ! this is my second attempt of fingerpicking étude n°5. I had some difficulties with the rythm and the length of the notes. Andrew I played with “you” on the website, it was cool, (for feedback : video starts too qickly after clicking play, so I needed waiting for the 2nd bar to get you). Please let me know what you think about, and if I need to work about the lenght of the notes, please tell me how can I set up a metronome on smartphone to work with this song, I tried but got nothing good.
For more I looked to learn a new song or etude and I wanted to ask you if you have some ideas about a ukulele song from you that matches with my level, I don’t have objective feedback with me. Ok thank you for feedback. Just for fun, I just come home for a road trip in España and I made my wife crazy playing this etude all evenings in camper car, but she loves it still.
Ok thanks again ’cause I ask you a lot of things.March 6, 2018 at 12:59 am #15839cheickMemberHi Andrew. Thank you very much for the feedback. I really appreciate it. I’m going to work these two points rythm and timing and I will repost a new video.
Once again thank you. 👍🏽March 5, 2018 at 1:59 pm #15836cheickMemberThis is my first recording for Etude n°5 so far away from Andrew but I did my best. I’m going to play it and be better in the next weeks. Thanks for watching and constructive critics.
