@deadbuggy Thanks Sara. Your performance was beautiful. I agree with you. The pieces this month are great. I want to learn all of them.

This is my “Grandma” version of Punk-182 😄. I’m working on Daft Funk. Getting the timing has been a challenge. But very fun to work on.March 22, 2024 at 12:45 pm #60972planetfinkParticipantHere’s my attempt at St Anne’s Reel. It’s a bit rough and not up to speed but I count it a victory. When I went through the Triplet course and got to this piece my thought was “Yeah, this is never going to happen.” So I’m glad I gave it another try and got this far with it.
February 18, 2024 at 3:11 pm #60613planetfinkParticipantThis was my choice for the February challenge. Fly Me to the Moon. I kept it slow. I love the Diana Krall version.
December 13, 2023 at 2:01 pm #59802planetfinkParticipantBeautiful performance, Lyndall. I don’t usually sing the English lyrics either. Not really fond of them, but they worked in the arrangement. Chag Sameach.
December 12, 2023 at 3:20 pm #59778planetfinkParticipantThis is not an entry. But I thought I would learn this one before Hanukkah was over. I played it on baritone because it was too high for my voice and this was the easiest way to change key without having to rewrite the whole arrangement.

I was waiting for the Hanukkah song but just love the arrangement of this one. Beautiful job, Matt.
November 7, 2023 at 1:25 pm #59339planetfinkParticipantHi all,
I haven’t posted in awhile. I have been learning songs but not getting them to the “camera ready” point. This one is for my 2 year old granddaughter. She loves Studio Ghibli movies, especially this one. A beautiful arrangement. Thanks, Matt.

I hope I’m not double posting. I hit submit earlier and nothing seemed to happen.

I was hoping Sevivon Sov Sov Sov would be on the Dec. challenge. My version is a little rough, but since Hanukkah is half over I wanted to get it done. I changed a few notes to make it sound more like the melody I’m familiar with. @lyndallk I love your version. Beyond my ability to speed it up like that, but really fun to listen to.
November 12, 2021 at 8:25 pm #49249planetfinkParticipantThanks, Andrew. I love that it sounds different every time I play it. It really reflects the mood I’m in while playing. I never had a piece where I could “play” my emotions like that before.

I love playing this piece. So many ways to vary the feeling. Even with a lot of practice I still struggle with the E7 chord measure. I think my arthritic hands aren’t up to it.
October 17, 2021 at 7:54 pm #48728planetfinkParticipantThanks, @robinboyd , I loved your performance too. I can’t take credit for the slide, it was in Matt’s performance and I liked the sound of it.
October 8, 2021 at 9:10 pm #48619planetfinkParticipantThanks Andrew, it’s nice to be back playing. I have also been playing your Moon Waltz on my baritone. A really fun tune.
