“Eastern Uke” – Rock Class 101

Below is the lesson for “Eastern Uke” by Rock Class 101

Helpful Tips

I composed “Eastern Uke” with the beginner/intermediate player in mind. The tune utilizes an interesting rhythm featuring 16th note strummed chords with a slap in a 6/8 time signature. Keeping the beat steady is the most important part of the song. The lesson has broken the tune down into a few sections: the Intro, ‘A’ Melody, ‘B’ Melody, and Outro. The rhythms are constant throughout the last 3 sections. Work on getting the right hand strumming/picking pattern to flow naturally, by practicing the parts slowly and working them up to speed gradually.
