Below is the lesson for “Hang On Little Tomato” by Pink Martini.

Helpful Tips

A fingerstyle take on a charming yet playful melody. Believe it or not, this song was inspired by a ketchup advertisement from 1964 that depicted a tomato on a vine with the slogan, “Hang on, Little Tomato!” It must have been some advert, because this song is absolutely beautiful and perfectly suited for the budding intermediate player.

The hardest part of this song is the swung rhythmic feel and use of barre chords. Remember to keep the tempo moderate (around 100 BPM) and the feel playful. And don’t forget to have fun! It’s the perfect song to play for that special someone in your life. 🙂
