Learn a fingerstyle take on a beautiful love song. This ballad is Richard Marx’s signature song. And I believe a large part of its enduring popularity comes down to the melody, which is absolutely gorgeous.

One aspect that makes this piece challenging to play is that the melody becomes syncopated at times. While this creates a really cool sound, counting and playing it can be difficult. Therefore, I’d recommend tackling it using the “play by ear” method. In other words, if you can sing it, you can play it!
