“Amazing Grace” (Harmonics Version) – Traditional

Below is the lesson for “Amazing Grace” (Harmonics Version).

Helpful Tips

Learn to play a unique version of “Amazing Grace” that’s performed entirely with harmonics! This song is the capstone performance piece from our brand new Harmonics Course, which is part of Technique Toolbox. The course will teach you 3 ways to perform harmonics; 2 of which are featured in this song! I’d highly encourage you to go through the course before attempting this piece, as it will set you up for success with learning it.

There are two versions for this piece, one that is performed by Evan, and a slightly simplified version that will be taught by Andrew. The great news is that the simplified version can be played alongside Evans!

In the lesson video, we’ll break this piece down into four sections:

Section 1: Pickup Bar + Bars 1-4
Section 2: Bars 4-8
Section 3: Bars 8-12
Section 4: Bars 12-16

I’d recommend tackling one section at a time, as opposed to playing the entire piece from the get-go. Lastly, this piece can be performed on a High G, but will sound best with a Low G ukulele.

P.S. Wondering what the 3rd technique for performing harmonics is? Find out in the course! I promise, it’s an AMAZING technique that’s guaranteed to impress!
