A Hard Rock Riff & Solo – EP019
Helpful Tips
Learn to play a hard rock riff and solo along with a full-band jam track! This song follows a 12-bar form, similar to the blues, but with its own unique twist. Here’s how it breaks down:
Melody A: 8 bars in length
Melody B: 4 bars in length
Add them up, and you get a total of 12 bars. These 12 bars will be repeated twice. The first time through (the first 12 bars), you’ll play a rock-inspired riff. The second time through (the next 12 bars), you’ll shred a solo over the first 8 of those bars!
If soloing isn’t your thing, no worries! You can play the same rhythm part from the first 12 bars during the second 12 bars, turning this song into a purely rhythmic piece.
