“Aerials” – System of a Down

Below is the lesson for “Aerials” by System of a Down

Helpful Tips

A hauntingly ethereal fingerstyle take on one of SOAD’s most iconic songs. This arrangement is best suited for advanced players and offers a range of technical challenges.

Your left hand will navigate a variety of chord shapes, from wide stretches to unconventional voicings, while your right hand alternates between fingerpicking and strumming. The strumming sections feature 16th-note patterns, many of which are syncopated. Try counting them out slowly before playing to internalize the rhythm.
