“God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” – Christmas

Below is the lesson for “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”.

Helpful Tips

A beautiful fingerstyle take on a classic Christmas carol. One of the main reasons this piece is best suited for the intermediate player is because of its chord work. You’ll be playing chords throughout the entire span of the neck (frets 0 to 12). And many of the chord shapes are unorthodox. Meaning, they’re not your typical G, Am, or F shapes.

Another element that makes this piece tricky is its tempo. Although Matt performed it at a brisk tempo, this carol sounds just as good at a slower tempo.

We hope this arrangement brings you joy this holiday season!
