Learn a beautiful composition from the critically acclaimed anime film, My Neighbor Totoro. From a fingerstyle perspective, this piece is perfect for the seasoned beginner.

This song uses a standard two-melody AABA form. Melody A is fairly straightforward, while Melody B is more challenging. Some of the chord shapes and transitions in this section can be quite tricky. I’d recommend using the fingerings that Matt suggests in the lesson video.

Keep in mind that this song is meant to be performed with a slow tempo. Therefore, as you play through this piece, focus on keeping your tempo steady while sustaining each note/chord for its entire duration.
