“People Are Strange” – The Doors

Below is the lesson for “People Are Strange” by The Doors.

Helpful Tips

This fingerstyle arrangement transposes Morrison’s haunting blues voice onto the ukulele. In terms of difficulty, this piece falls smack dab in the middle, in that it’s ideal for the intermediate player.

As you work through the music, you’ll realize there’s not many parts to the song. In fact there’s only four sections: Verse, Chorus, Build Up (in lieu of the guitar solo), and a Variation on the Verse. The latter is pretty cool because it takes you to the upper register of the neck (frets 7-14), creating a nice contrast to the rest of the piece.
