“Rock Around the Clock” – Bill Haley & His Comets

Below is the lesson for “Rock Around the Clock” by Bill Haley & His Comets.

Helpful Tips

Learn a high energy, fingerstyle take on a classic rock and roll song from the 50’s! Fun fact: this song served as the original theme for the TV show, Happy Days. And boy, does that bring back a lot of good memories with my dad as we watched it together when I was a kid. 🙂

One of the things I love about this song is that it starts out with a bang! To recreate the famous intro, we’ll use a mix of simple strumming and the triplet strum. When we kick into the verse and chorus, we’ll keep the momentum going by playing a fingerpicked chord melody.
