“Spanish Days” – Rock Class 101

Below is the lesson for “Spanish Days” by Rock Class 101

Helpful Tips

Learn a fiery, Spanish-inspired ukulele duet that’s perfect for developing both your rhythm and soloing chops!

“Spanish Days” is a follow-up composition to “Spanish Nights,” written six years ago by Andrew and Evan. The two pieces share a few key similarities: both use a chord progression commonly heard in traditional Spanish music, and both follow a similar structure. The first half features a beautiful, lyrical melody before transitioning into a more fierce, high-energy section in the second half.

So what’s different this time around? “Spanish Nights” was written for solo ukulele, while “Spanish Days” is arranged as a duet (with a brief moment where it even becomes a trio). Writing this piece as a duet gives you the option to learn either the lead or rhythm part, or, if you’re feeling Olympic, both!
