In this U-Bass lesson, you will learn a melodic bass line that highlights the chord changes and rhythmic feel of a Bossa Nova piece. Most of the rhythm lines up with the drum groove, so listen to the bass drum to get into the Bossa Nova feel. Occasionally the rhythm is syncopated, meaning the strong beat (beat one) is hidden. Be sure to pat your foot to keep track of the beats.

This piece is performed with electric bass technique, which involves plucking with the pointer and middle fingers. To get a full tone, focus on plucking with the tip of the fingers.
