“Contemplations” – Marianne Schoucair

Below is the lesson for “Contemplations” by Marianne Schoucair.

Helpful Tips

Learn a hauntingly beautiful piece inspired by classical music. This piece was composed by our fellow member Marianne for our July 2024 monthly challenge. The theme for that month was original music, and members had the opportunity to share their own compositions with our community.

Marianne’s piece, titled Contemplations, truly captivated me. Its beauty and brilliance are evident from the start, beginning and ending with the triplet picking technique before transitioning into more traditional fingerstyle playing. The title perfectly matches the music, with a sound that evokes deep thought and emotion. In this performance, we’ll focus on bringing that feeling to life through rubato and dynamics, which are taught in module 3 of our Classical Technique & Style course.
