    Hey,

I have a problem. Whenever I’m trying to speed up when playing a piece of music, my fingers start to behave clumsy, they touch the neighbouring strings as if they were too big. Does it mean that my fingers are too thick for ukulele? Or is it a matter of practice? It happens only when I play faster. I need to add that I’m a beginner.

Hi Kasia, finger size shouldn’t make a difference. Can you post a video? I’ll be better able to help if I can see what you are doing. 🙂

It seems I have a problem with posting my video. I guess the size is too big but I don’t know how to make it smaller :/

Ok, I think I got it. I managed to make the video smaller.
I recorded a short piece of ‘Our first song’, which I’m working on. I’m not sure if the quality of the video is good enough to see/hear it. You can hear it there when my thumb from the right hand hits unwanted strings. Please tell me it’s a matter of practice 🙂

Hi Kasia, sorry for the delay. Your form looks fine, so I think it comes down to the fact that speed/accuracy takes time to develop. Check out the tips for practicing listed in this article.

You can use the on-screen tab viewer to loop a couple bars at a time. Start slow and focus on accurately hitting string two and one; and also focus on playing each note cleanly and in-time. Keep up the good work and let me know how it goes 🙂

Hi Andrew, thank you for the reply. I will work on my accuracy then and see how it goes.
