Empty last measure

    A number of the songs here (for example Ode to Joy or I’m Yours) have a last measure with nothing but a rest in it and instructions to ignore the measure. Why is it there at all? Thanks!

    good question. I’ve always wondered why also but have been afraid to ask. ha

    Tab formatting! I notate in guitar pro and it squishes the last bars of the piece, looking like this:

    null

    Instead of being legible:

    null

    So I created an extra bar after, so that it’s easier to read, as seen above. But, I actually just found out you can “stretch” a bar – so you won’t be seeing that note anymore.

    When the boss says “ignore” just ignore, no questions asked. Haha, and me, thinking that only the musically educated would understand. Too funny.
