Pain while chucking

When i chuck do I use my finger nails to hot the string because I have 2 cuts in my skin from doing it.

When you come down, with a claw shape, it will hit the nails and the skin above it. You shouldn’t be getting cuts… perhaps you are coming down too hard. Try to lighten the attack, we only need to come down with enough force to produce the percussive effect.

Totally fine! I do same too, just watch out on how hard the attack is. We only need to come down with enough force to create the percussive sound.

When I chuck, part of the bottom of my hand hits the strings. It still makes the percussive sound though. Is it okay to do then.
