My little grandson broke one of the strings on my baritone ukulele. Do I just restring the one broken one or all of them? I don’t know what brand came on the uke originally. I just didn’t know if it was okay to mix strings.

You can mix strings and it won’t hurt the uke. People certainly do it.

BUT having different string means your strings will wear out at different rates, and they might have different tensions or different tones, which could be a bit weird. Also, changing a single string on a tie-bar bridge is a bit tricky. Given that strings tend to be sold in sets anyway, I’d just change them all.

Changing all the strings is kind of the direction that I felt that I should do but I didn’t know if I was being silly. Thank you for your reply Robin Boyd.
