“Hide Away” – Freddie King

Below is the lesson for “Hide Away” by Freddie King.

Helpful Tips

‘Hideaway’ is an iconic blues guitar standard that every great player has covered. My interpretation weighs heavy on SRV’s version. This arrangement features the main melody, 4 riffs, and an outro. The song is definitely technique heavy and makes use of hammer-ons, pull-offs, and slides extensively. The best advice I can give you is to learn this song section by section, and master one at a time before moving on. You’ll notice that many of the riffs have the same ending, which makes learning the piece that much easier! I’ve played this song since I was 15 and it was a blast to put it on uke! I hope you dig it as much as I do!
