“Nessun Dorma” – Giacomo Puccini

Below is the lesson for “Nessun Dorma” by Giacomo Puccini.

Helpful Tips

Learn a famous aria from Giacomo Puccini’s opera, Turandot. We’ve arranged this piece as a duet intended for vocal accompaniment.

Now I know what you’re thinking, “I can’t sing in Italian!”

Well neither can I (Andrew), LOL. But no need to worry, we’ve included a play-along backing track with Ashley’s vocal performance in two speeds: 100% and 75%. So once you learn the ukulele part, you’ll be able to perform the piece with vocal accompaniment.

From a playing perspective, this is not a challenging piece in terms of what our right or left hand has to do. Rather the challenge comes from injecting feel, emotion, and rubato into our playing. Throughout the lesson, we’ll listen back to Evan’s performance as a reference point for developing these concepts.
