“Strumming Etude no. 3” – Rock Class 101

Below is the lesson for “Strumming Etude no. 3” by Rock Class 101.

Helpful Tips

This etude is perfect for folks who love to strum and sing but are ready to dive into the chord melody style of playing. As the name implies, chord melody simply means to play the chords plus the melody simultaneously.

The problem with most chord melody arrangements is that they tend to use a lot of fingerpicking. This can be challenging for folks who have never fingerpicked. Therefore, I wanted to write this etude for the seasoned strummer—someone who can effortlessly transition between chords while keeping the beat steady.
