If anybody asked you to do this would think you could do it at this speed straight away.
Of course you wouldn’t. But when we try and play a song we all want to play it up to speed straight away. If you were learning the cup stacking how would you learn that just go for it at top speed and make mistake after mistake or would you learn a few moves and then move on?Well that’s impressive! But your analogy is correct and I see it all the time, in that people want to be able to play it up to speed off the bat. One of the best pieces of advice I heard came from a fellow teacher, he said: “I’d rather listen to someone play it slowly and in time, than fast and sloppy”.
