    Hello everyone,

I started learning to play the ukulele with my child about a year ago. I really enjoy practicing together, even though I’m not talented at all and had hardly any experience with musical instruments before that. If I were learning on my own, I probably would have given up a long time ago, but this way I’ve actually learned quite a bit, and now I’m maybe ready to try some of the beginner pieces here.
In fact, my son is already way ahead of me. He picks things up intuitively and quickly that I need a lot of practice to learn. I have to make an effort not to fall too far behind. But I can also encourage him to try new things, even when they seem difficult at first. For me, the main thing is to make things a little easier for him when he encounters difficulties and to help him as much as I can.
But it would certainly be nice if I could eventually make music myself and perhaps play some of the music that has accompanied and enriched my life.
So, thanks, Andrew, and everyone here for all your work! I just discovered Rock Class 101 recently, and it’s already been really helpful and inspiring.
Ah, I also discovered the August Challenge, and you might not believe how much it motivates kids to practice 😊
I’ll give it a go later too, when I can play it better.
By the way, I’m from Germany, so my English may sound a little strange sometimes.

    Heyho Hank,

welcome here at rockclass101. I think You made the right decision joining in. It’s a great platform with many benefits and tons of stuff to explore & learn. At least you can get professional feedback, use the tab-viewer and of course join this very friendly community.

I ordered my first Uke nine years ago at the age of 39 with no musical background. This little instrument changed and enriched my life.
I’m here since three years now and took great advantage of this platform.

Alsoooo, auch im fortjesetzten Alter kannste hier richtig jut wat lernen und erreichen! Viel Spaß auf deiner Ukulele-reise und freundliche Grüße aus Berlin,

    Markus

    Hey Markus,
thank you for the friendly welcome, I really appreciate it. I just watched your latest video – you’re really skilled! If i can get this far it would be more than i can hope for at the moment 🙂

Aber die Ukulele macht jedenfalls viel Spaß. Egal wohin die Reise auch führt.

    Herzliche Grüße aus dem Schwabenländle!
    Hank
