AndrewKeymaster@joe150 – In that case, you can substitute the open G for the 3rd fret of the 2nd string and the 1st fret of the 4th string for the 4th fret of the 2nd string.

Here is my go at Spogelser. Haunting melody and mesmerizing to play with the background track.
Post publishing note: Sorry for the huge video pic. It might have happened because I cropped the original video? BAD pic!

AndrewKeymaster@rgillof – I re-embedded it using the non-short URL:
Instead of the short URL:
That trick was able to reduce its size, but I’ve noticed recently that Shorts are embedding in a vertical format (9:16) instead of being forced to display at a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is how I coded the site to show them.
Something changed with how YouTube handles embedded Shorts. Figuring out why is on my to-do list, because you’re right, they’re currently displaying larger than necessary in our forums.

AndrewKeymaster@rgillof – Ok, I was able to figure out the cause and it wasn’t YouTube, it was a setting in our forum software that was altering how embeds are displayed. It must have been a new feature that was turned on automatically during a software update. It’s off now!
You can share short URLs now without them showing as giant videos 😂

Participant@andrew – Thanks Andrew. I’m glad to hear it wasn’t a problem on my end because I never would have figured it out.

I went with the Ghosts, Spogelser.
I’m still amazed at how much concentration it takes to stay in time with the backing track, even using a metronome.

Here’s my recording of Spogelser. Its a fun piece to play, and challenging to keep in time with the backing track. I sped up a bit towards the end but finished ok 🙂

grannieannieParticipantHi folks – some great entries already, and welcome to new members. I wanted to challenge myself with Blue Moon this month, but life has been getting in the way of my managing some of the chord changes easily. In the meantime, I’m loving the sound of Spøgelser, and I like the haunting melodies that 4-String Boy uses in his First-Day Warmup series, so I think it’s time to redirect my efforts. I haven’t given up yet on Blue Moon, but maybe for another challenge.

AndrewKeymaster@rw1950merritt – Very well played! Only thing to do from here is gradually work it up to 100% speed. Keep up the great work!
@ccwuke – Awesome take Chris! I’m gonna share it on our socials today 🙂October 19, 2026 at 6:15 pm #84650
brettboyParticipantAloha Uke Fam!
This fall I’m taking a “Hot Club Music” class (Think French Club / Django Reinhardt style music) at Jazz Night School here in Seattle 🙂 It’s a ton of fun but also a lot of hard work for me to keep up with the material, so unfortunately I don’t have much time to devote to my beloved RC101 monthly challenges. I’m glad Andrew and Matt included a piece at just the right level for me this October with Spooky Scary Skeletons! What a great arrangement!
Happy Spooky Season Everyone!

AndrewKeymaster@brettboy – That class sounds awesome, Brett! Hope to hear some of what you learn on your insta 🙂
And your performance of SSS was great (and loved the ending)!

Here’s my October submission of Spøgelser. And if it is halloween time, it must be time to bring out the GHOST UKULELE, or in this case, the Spøgelser Ukulele! This song was a lot of fun. It would seem the repetition would make it easier, but it was so much alike yet different that I found it challenging. And the ethereal quality of the backing track added some fun and challenge too. Anyway, here it is. Happy Halloween to those that enjoy it, and just happy Autumn to everyone.
