Your discussion on what you learned your first day at music college has made me change the way I practice….Thanks
I start with some skills /drills
reinforce some new songs I’m learning
Then mess around for fun as time permits.

I would like to improve my knowledge and speed w scales.
Since there are so many could you list the top 5 ( to start)
So I can get the most bang and will use them more frequently for potential soloing
    Thanks Mort

Glad it was helpful Mort! Here’s where I would start:

    Major
    Minor
    Major Pentatonic
    Minor Pentatonic
    Blues

We cover Major and pentatonic in our course on An Introduction to Music Theory & Jamming.

    To make it more manageable
What keys would you start with

Start with C (A minor), as it contains no sharps or flats.
