Hi! I watched Matt’s recent video on recording ukulele, and also completed the course on recording here at Rock Class 101. Wondering if the Apogee mic is compatible with android? If not, is there a suggestion for a mic that I can plug right into my android? Trying to up my game a bit on recordings. Thanks for your help! :-

    Hi, @jasdel,

I have used and can recommend the Rode NT-USB Mini microphone: https://rode.com/en/microphones/usb/nt-usb-mini
It can be connected directly to an Android phone/tablet via USB-C. The sound it picks up is really excellent. The only thing that bothered me was that it picks up a wide area, so I had to use some kind of sound barrier.

That’s why I switched to a Zoom H1n audio recorder https://zoomcorp.com/en/us/handheld-recorders/handheld-recorders/h1n-handy-recorder/ , which can also be connected to an Android device via a USB cable. The initial setup, however, requires a bit of research and experimentation.

This article says it’s not officially supported, but it might work.

Hi @janaq1 and @andrew, Thanks very much for the responses and suggestions. The recording equipment side of things feels complex to me, so I appreciate your guidance! Enjoy your day! 🙂
