any advice on how to properly put my finger only on string 4 while not touching string 3? i seem to always have my finger somehow touch string 3 which messes up its tune.

    for example:
    string 1 – 0
    string 2 – 0
    string 3 – 0
string 4 – 10 (via my middle finger)

if i pluck string 3 only, it doesn’t sound smooth because my middle finger somehow comes in contact and gets in the way.

Hi Krister! Ok, so the original question was dealing with Canon in D, Melody 6 – Measure 23. In this measure, we have to reach the 4th string to play a fretted note, while not muting string 3 (open). The trick lies with the left hand form. Try and copy the form I laid out in this video. Proper form should allow your middle finger the ability to reach over string 3 and fret only string 4.
