AndrewKeymasterHi guys! Today, I’m excited to release our new course, Pathways: A Curated Guide to Learning Ukulele Through Songs.
You can jump into the course HERE or watch the video below to learn more 🙂
I wanted to take a minute to tell you why I created this course. We now have over 500 song lessons on Rock Class 101. And last year, I completely revamped how you search, sort, and filter across these lessons.
While the revamp brought greater functionality to the site, it doesn’t provide a path that tells you which songs to learn in which order. That changes today with this course!
You’ll work your way through ten songs per level across three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Think of these songs as stepping stones, each one introducing new techniques and concepts that build on the last.
Along the way, you’ll develop fingerpicking and strumming skills. You’ll play solo pieces, duets, and even trio and full band arrangements. You’ll explore different styles of music while also learning that it’s not just about playing the right notes; it’s about how you play them.
I also added a new feature to ALL courses on Rock Class 101, a revamped sidebar. The new sidebar allows you to easily see where you are in the course and to jump between lessons.
It’s color coded too. So when you mark a lesson as complete, the sidebar will show that lesson with a green background as opposed to the blue background (which shows the current lesson you are on) seen below:

janaq1ParticipantHi @Andrew,
this is a great idea and very helping. I look forward to walking that pathway.
When I luckily discovered Rockclass101 6 years ago, the second lesson I learned here was EP002 Harmonizing in C Major. It really opened my horizons and I still benefit from it. I play it from time to time. Great lesson. And amazing work with the entire Rockclass101! 👏👏👏
Thank you so much.June 12, 2026 at 8:40 pm #82754
tessiertParticipantI totally suffer from the haphazard – just pick a random song that I happen to like – approach to learning, and wanted to say how super excited I am about the new Pathways Course!!!

AndrewKeymasterI appreciate the kind words 🙂

The_Bumble_BardParticipantMan, this is really neat! I was very excited and surprised to see this, but I’m definitely going to give this a whirl! Awesome idea!!!
I had a thought – could you also do a version of this with classical tunes only? I think that would be so awesome. Beginner to advanced classical tunes to teach techniques and build a classical repertoire. That would be lit, as the kids say.
I had one question, @Andrew, but do you think it would be good to list the song titles instead of “Song 1, Song 2, Song 3, etc.?” in the course menu? Maybe that would be way too cluttered, though. Just a thought. I just think it would be cool to see all the songs listed on each level of songs (beginner, intermediate, advanced). But I may be wrong and that would be too messy to format it that way.
Really looking forward to trying this! I probably still would start from the beginner level just to build a feeling of “success” in my mind before trying the harder levels. 😂

AndrewKeymasterRachael, we might make another course in this style. But for now, if you want to work on classical music, I’d jump into the Classical Technique & Style Course.
For Pathways, the song titles are shown in the beige progress bar at the top of each lesson.
Glad to hear you are excited about the new course 🙂

The_Bumble_BardParticipantTrue, Andrew, that’s an excellent point! I think I just got overly excited seeing that and that popped into my head, but true you already have a classical course! I already started the Pathways course a bit! 🙂
Ohhhh, okay, with the song titles! I’ll have to look again at that, not sure how I missed it!
Thank you kindly! 🙂
