    Question.

In throne room, the last melody, bar 36… Isn’t the down up down bit the same as a triplet tying into a longer note on the end? It sounds to me like down-triplet-tie-triplet (ending in bar 37).

    Is that wrong?

I think you mean the next bar (5th from last). It’s 16th note hits.

    1 (2) &a 3 (4) &a

    1 2 3& (123)

I understand what you mean, but they are quite different. Try to count and clap the rhythm above with metronome or on-screen tab viewer. Post video here and I’m happy to listen to make sure you understand the difference.

Thanks Andrew. Still trying to get my head around it.

    So bar 36 I’m counting 1(2) &a 3(4) &a

I counted that out without looking at yours.

The &a3 is faster than the triplet, right?

If it’s faster, wouldn’t the triplet technique be more effective? It feels better.

As long as the strumming technique you use for triplets plays the correct rhythm, you are good 🙂
