I’m a beginner on the Ukulele so while I’m learning it, I like to observe how one is playing a chord. So, I’m on The Ukulele Fingerpicking Concepts: An Intro to Finger Style. I notice that Andrew puts his thumb behind the G string on the 3 fret. I realized that releases tension on the wrist of the left hand playing the C chord. Is that true for you all too?

Thumb placement depends on the context of the music you’re playing. Check out this lesson. It explains this in more detail and shows you a few forms that you can use.

Thank you Mr Andrew, I’ll follow up on your suggestion. Moving a bit slow on that course, but I realize if I also focus on total relaxation on the strumming and picking exercises, the tone of the ukulele I’m using has a good spiritual connection in playing the instrument. At least that is how I feel. Complete beginner on this instrument. Goal is to play some instrumental melodies. Again, thanks for your kind reply.
