Batteries for uke amp (built in)

My Fender has a built in amp that uses two CR2032 round/flat batteries. They seem to not last long at all. I don’t use the amp that often so I don’t know why the batteries discharge so quickly. Should I remove the batteries after I finish playing and put them back in the next time that I play? Will this extend the life?

Do you leave your jack cable in your Fender?
That drains your battery.

Yes, I discovered that early on. Another thing is the built in amp also has a tuner button and if you accidently press it and not know, it will continue to drain the batteries.
I also notice that the volume, bass, treble knobs seem to have more control of the speaker than the speaker’s controls.
