This song. I went to basic training in Ft Benning GA… long ago. I remember our whole company being woken up in the middle of the night one night to do seemingly endless push-ups in the Georgia rain to the sound of one of our drill sergeants singing a beautiful acapella version of this song. I think the idea was if someone fell asleep to his serenade we all would have to do more push-ups. I just remember being really impressed with his voice. Lol… good times.
@jeg143 Lol…I always thought it was really neat that music attaches itself to random times in our life. Every time I hear that song I too am taking back to a specific moment in my life. It also was hot and rainy but it was in Pennsylvania and instead of pushups I was paddling a canoe down a river with a transitor radio playing that song. Most cool.
