    @the_bumble_bard love it. I was playing around with same pattern. Sounds so good. Great entry and your infectious laugh makes me smile ☺️. Have a wonderful holiday friend 🎼

    Haha, yes! I plug my uke in—it has a cable input (not sure what it’s called exactly). Plugging it in makes it super easy to record on my phone. It also has some knobs for adding effects, which is pretty cool! This uke sounds so much better than the plastic one I used to have, but it’s still super comfy to play. Oh, and I didn’t use a backing track for this recording!

    @The_Bumble_Bard

    Thank you so much! I listened to your version, and yeah, we had such a similar idea—it’s crazy! Lately, I’ve been really into a book called Arpeggio Meditations for Ukulele by Daniel Ward, and I’ve been trying to apply that style to everything, even video game songs! (I actually will share an example of a Genshin Impact song I arranged in that style, haha.) It’s such a fun way to meditate with your ukulele—especially if you live near the beach! I’m lucky to be just an 8-minute walk from the ocean, so it makes for an amazing experience. I hope you have wonderful holidays; it’s my favorite time of year!

    @Marianne

    I know the holidays can be such a busy time, but if you ever find a moment, you should definitely share your second arpeggio version! I’d love to hear it on baritone—it sounds like it would be amazing!

    @leb397

    Yes, I think 2025 is going to be such a fun year! By the way, do you have a baritone ukulele too?

    @The_Bumble_Bard – Beautiful adaptation Rachael! Well written and played! Thank you so much for the donation! I’m very thankful to have you here with us. I really appreciate your positive comments for our members and teachers 🙂

    @ukefinlandgirl
    – Beautifully played! One thing I’d suggest working on is increasing sustain. I noticed that you’re lifting your fretting fingers before the note’s full duration. Try keeping them held down for the entire length of each note. I’d also recommend watching this lesson. It goes into more detail about this concept.

    @deadbuggy
    – Beautifully played Sara! Great feel and pacing! TY so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

    Thank you @Andrew. And yes I will work on keeping the sustain a little bit longer.😊

    @Andrew, thank you so much for that! It really means so much to me that you say that. It’s easy to leave positive comments because there’s always so much good to say. 😊💕 Also, I find it really entertaining to do, too, like on the YouTubes. 😅 I’m really glad you liked my adaptation, too! 😊

    @leb397
    , thank you so much, friend! I can’t wait to hear your entry! It’s kind of funny that everyone kind of had the same intuition to do that. 😂😅 Haha thank you, that’s actually something I sometimes do when I’m going to record: Try to do something funny right before to loosen up because I still get so nervous. So balancing my little reindeer-penguin friend on my knee and having him slowly creep into frame amused me in that moment. 😂 Happy Holidays to you, too, friend! 🎀❤️💚🎄❄️☃️

    @ukefinlandgirl
    , very sweet performance! I really love Matt’s original version of that song and you did a really lovely job with it! Also I love your ukulele, not a small amount, but a lot. 😂 And thank you for your kind words about my entry, I do have a tendency to get overly excited and not take my time with things, so thank you for that! 😊❤️

    @emiliano
    , I think we all had a hive mind with our approach to that song! 😂 I love that approach to playing uke, too, with the arpeggios. For me, it’s just trial and error to figure out the pattern. But I think I have to look that book up ASAP! Oh my word, I loooooooved that arrangement you did, I need to try playing that! So gorgeous! I don’t really know the song but I love the effect you created. There are many beautiful aspects of this time of year but sometimes it can be hard for me to be honest. Anyway, I hope your holidays are lovely, too! 😊💕❤️🎀🎄❄️💚❄️

    @deadbuggy
    , absolutely gorgeous rendition of that! I love how everyone had a similar idea with that one, but there are slight differences that I notice. The feeling of yours is extra beautiful though. 😊❤️

    ‘Appy ‘Olidays to all! That’s how you say it “in British” / Charles Dickens. 😉😂😅💕❤️🎀💚❄️❄️ Can’t wait to hear more entries!!

    @andrew Question I am working on Come All Ye Faithful and using my low g tenor. I’ve changed the single open “c”/G string to the E string 3rd fret, as you mentioned in a post this month. Question is the Am7 in the 5th bar doesn’t sound quite right open on c&g. Do you play the cords with open g&c as written for low G?
    Hopefully that is explained correctly. Louisa

    @The_Bumble_Bard Thank you and happy holidays.😊🎄🎁

    Loved your performance and hope to see you play more new songs.😊

    It’s my first ukulele.😊 I bought it right before halloween this year. I thought the skull art was amazing and it sounded great.😊

    @leb397 – You said:

    I’ve changed the single open “c”/G string to the E string 3rd fret

    The open 3rd string can remain as is. The open 4th string is the only one that needs to be moved to the 3rd fret on string 2.

    Question is the Am7 in the 5th bar doesn’t sound quite right open on c&g. Do you play the cords with open g&c as written for low G?

    Try ignoring string 4. That might make it sound better to your ear.

    @andrew thank you. I believe we are saying same thing -open 4th string moves to 3rd fret string 2 (E)
    #2 question I’ll try ignoring the 4th (G) string, 5th bar.

    Always appreciate you support. Louisa

    I was happy to donate $25 to Ukulele Kids Club, and thanks RC101 for for also contributing to this worthwhile charity!
    Song Suggestion for next season: Mistletoe and Holly, by Frank Sinatra. I love the chords in that one, and struggled to figure it out. I think it would sound good on low G uke 🙂
    Happy Holidays everyone!! Mike

    I planned to learn Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree for this month’s challenge, but as that was only released yesterday, and the dealine is already December 20th this month, I figured I need a safety net as I might be too busy around this time of year to learn that tune in just two weeks. So please accept the following atrocity as my official submission this month. If a song is really good, you can’t destroy it no matter what you do to it, they say. You can come awfully close though, I want to add 🙂
    As act of repentance, I donated $20 to the UKC.

    @morrieuke1 – Great playing, as always, Michael and I like the percussive touch you added! Thank you so much for the donation! When you get a chance, can you add that tune to our request list?

    @misterbones
    – That was awesome Michael! I already know @The_Bumble_Bard’s gonna love it! 🙂

    Ohhhhhhh, @Andrew is right, @misterbones, I do love that so much! Wow, ya really nailed it! I feel like you made it into “real clawhammer,” whatever I do is kind of pseudo-clawhammer because I think I learned the technique without learning many traditional clawhammer songs, so that changed the feel / rhythm I naturally have with it now, for good or ill. 😂 That was perfection though! The speed you achieve is super impressive too while playing so cleanly!

    I actually did try to clawhammer that one briefly but didn’t get very far, but now you’ve inspired me! Here is clawhammer atrocity 2.0: 😉😂

    I feel like the sound is different from yours. I came up with this tonight super fast and this is the first take so I’m pretty pleased with it with that in mind, despite the bumbles. I might add more variation to the pattern and embellishments as I keep playing it. Thank you for the inspiration! 😂
