Participant@lhamilton – Amazing work on playing Gabriel’s Oboe! That was a fun one to arrange. You played this one very well!

Participant@marianne and everyone else who has shown so much love and support, thank you. Regina was my person. There was no one else like her and I loved her as much as I could love anything. She passed away this morning. I was rubbing her back and her daughter was holding her hand when she took her last breath, and she was surrounded by loved ones. I am struggling right now, but if you can, priorities your thoughts and prayers to her children, especially Dlyan (named after Bob Dylan), her youngest child who is only 11. Thank you again to everyone and to Rockclass101 for supporting me and giving me this community to share this with. It’s truly special and it was Regina’s love of my learning new songs in rockclass101 that really kept me going.

ParticipantCongrats, @leihali and @abster! @abster, we’re all watching as you progress from amazing to superstar!
@stephencox – Of course [head-slap]! (referencing trying to improve vibrato by playing a song filled with dense chords). I’ve turned that around – now when warming up, I pick a random note and pick out the tune from there, which also helps me to become more familiar with the fretboard. Thanks for your constructive comments.February 12, 2025 at 2:50 pm #65560emiliano
Participant@The_Bumble_Bard Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s amazing how the same piece can resonate differently with each of us. By the way, when you finish your Beatles arrangement, I really hope you post it I’m looking forward to hearing how the bridge sounds once you figure out that tremolo!
@stephencox Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate the feedback. That 1st fret mini-barre with the stretch to the 7th fret definitely took some practice, I been doing some excercises for that as part of my daily routine so I can make those barre chords without putting so much tension on my hand. Tho I had to remember myself to always go slow and do not go fast, I tend to like to go fast and need to control myself.
@abster Thank you so muchFebruary 12, 2025 at 4:45 pm #65562The_Bumble_Bard
Participant@emiliano, so true! Songs can have very different interpretations based on your experiences in life and with music. Thank you so much for the encouragement with that! Just you asking about the Beatles song is helpful because I do have a big time issue finishing things. Sometimes, I literally just forget that I was doing something. My focus is very, very sharp, lol. I’ll have to do that, it may take a little bit, but when it’s done, I’ll share it here. 🙂
