    Thanks all, for the kind words! No, I don’t have tab for that song — I have no idea how to do that! And thank you, Andrew for fixing my post 🙂

    @The_bumble_bard what a great lesson and start to your performance. You explained things to me about the slide on the neck – so cool. Can’t wait to hear what you “name it” and final performance. Also, thanks for the kudos last month on the newsletter showcase. It was a first for me and I had no idea so was a bit shocked to see ME in my “cozy clothes” playing Axel F. 🙂 Also @gi_gi_ thank you too.

    Wow, @deadbuggy super cool. love your playing and entries. Also top rated.

    @emiliano
    good luck with the storm. Doesn’t look good for so many but I don’t know where you are. Stay safe.

    Busy July for me… we’ll see what I get out. Love the prize to “choose your own” one of my favorite type giveaways.

    @leb397, thank you so much for that, my friend!! 😁💕😊 This is a strange thing for me that when I’m talking AND playing uke, like explaining something that I’m trying to create, I feel less anxious on camera, usually. I think because it feels more casual, more like talking to an extremely non-judgemental, kind, and encouraging friend. 😂 Right now for the title, I’m leaning towards, “Farmer Jessop’s Crusty Old Peanut Butter Jar,” but we’ll see. 😉😅😂😂😅

    Haha!! That is always a surprise when you appear in the newsletter. 😁 That was a really great performance though. Ha I thought you looked lovely in the video! There were definitely a couple of times when I shared something and thought crud, hope they don’t use that for something (because I filmed right after work or something 😅). Anyway, I hope you get a chance to share something in this challenge too! All of Andrew’s originals are very lovely and a couple don’t seem too tricky, if you aren’t thinking of creating your own. Thank you again! 😊💕

    @deadbuggy really enjoyed your submissions – especially your original. So catchy and well played

    @The_bumble_bard
    Thanks for sharing both your process and the start to that lovely tune, and your enthusiasm. I hope to catch some of it

    @lyndallk, thank you so much for that, friend!! 😁💕 To me, that’s one of the most exciting things about playing a musical instrument, is being more creative and free with it. But the more technical knowledge you have, the more creative abilities like that can thrive (contrary to my strange superstitions about that), which is one of many reasons why I’m so grateful to RC101, for teaching me so much. For some reason, if I’m speaking AND playing together, I feel less anxious doing both things on camera, usually. 😂 I think because it feels more casual. Can’t wait to see what you share in this challenge and see what everyone shares!! 😁💕 Also Happy Fourth of July, to people who celebrate!! 😁🇺🇸🎆🎇

    @The_Bumble_Bard – Beautiful start to your song Rachael! Your song has a 1 4 5 harmony (C, F, G). I like songs that have simple harmonies. You could keep it simple or expand it if you want to add more color. The fun thing about writing is that there is no right or wrong 🙂

    @Andrew, thank you so much for taking the time to look at that! 😊 And thank you for letting me know that’s what the harmonies are. Maybe it would be better to keep it simple. And it’s really nice when there’s no wrong answer; that doesn’t happen very often in life. 😅 Thank you so much again!! 😊💕

    @The_Bumble_Bard Thanks for showing us what you’re doing, and for being so conversational about it – it’s interesting to hear how you’re going about creating this song. It’s a lovely melody and I’ll look forward to watching as it evolves.

    @deadbuggy

    Hi, everyone!

    Here is my creation.
    This piece was created just like the previous two – unplanned, completely by coincidence. I wanted to record a better version of Ghostbusters on Saturday, but with my family at home, recording was not possible. So I was just noodling. I accidentally strummed the transition from the Em chord to the B chord, and the A melody was born. I added a C & B chord combination and there was the B melody. It didn’t take long to get the C melody. It wasn’t too bad, so I played it over and over to remember it. I thought maybe I’d meet my quota of one tune a year.
    I found it funny that Andrew had just had a lesson on songwriting the day before.
    I played my creation all weekend, trying to figure out which combination of melodies would be optimal. In the end, I decided to combine A+B, A+C, A+B+C.
    When Andrew posted the July challenge on Monday, it really amused me.
    At first I wanted to work more on the piece to make the performance better. But it puts me in a mood I’m trying to get rid of. So I’m posting the tune to the online world as it is.

    @Andrew
    , please exclude me from the prize draw this month.

    @deadbuggy
    I really like your composition. I admire you for being able to make a song when you choose. I can’t do that.

    @grannieannie, thank you so, so much for that! I can’t say how much I appreciate all this encouragement and your kind words. 😊 I may update that one relatively soon because it’s definitely evolved since that video, a lot. 😂 I really enjoy sharing my thought process behind what I create, and hearing about others’ thought processes when they create, too. Thank you again!! 😊💕

    @janaq1
    , that was absolutely beautiful, gorgeous composition! So cool and funny to read about how that lovely tune came to be. 😅 Really lovely!

    @the_bumble_bard -great job! Kudos for working an original. I haven’t tried to do that in sooo very long! Keep working it and it will get better. It’s amazing to me that anyone has to “work on” and practice an Original, but it’s the truth, nothing comes that easy! I have “noodled” at melodies or progressions but then completely forgot what I had done!😩

    @maryjanew, thank you kindly for that!! 😊💕 Haha that is so strange, but true, that you do have to practice your own original songs, especially when you come up with ideas more difficult than you normally, naturally play. 😅 Hahaha that’s why you have to record as much as you can and why I still often do that, but I’ve definitely had that happen, too. 😂 I’ll often noodle for a while and then if I come up with something I really like, then I’ll record it. Looking forward to seeing what else everyone shares, such amazing entries so far by @deadbuggy and @janaq1! 😊
