We’re Redesigning Our Search Pages (Sneak Peak!)

Hi guys,

Last year, we drastically improved the way you search, sort, and filter through lessons. This year, we’re giving those pages a fresh new look.

Here’s a screenshot of the old layout we used for our Concept Lessons series.

And here is the new layout:

The new design is cleaner and easier to browse. It eliminates the duplicate lesson title that previously appeared in both the graphic and the clickable text, making it much easier to scan through the results.

I also added two colored pills beneath each lesson description to display the difficulty level and ukulele tuning. These provide helpful information for anyone browsing the default list or using a custom sort where, for example, multiple difficulty levels are selected.

We’ve completed these changes for the Concept Lessons series, so feel free to take the new layout for a test drive! 🙂

Next up, we’ll be making these changes to our other lesson series, including Ukulele Songs, Mini Lessons, Free Lessons, and Live Lessons.

@andrew, like the cleaner look. Especially listing the difficulty and tuning. Can there also be a “colored pill” for low or high G or either. I often want to know that right away when learning a song or choosing to play. Thanks. Louisa. Ps I know we have that in a search option.

Do you mean to have a unique colored pill for low G and another for high G? Right now, they share a color (gray), but you’ll see each tuning present if a song works for both:

The same would apply for difficulty, you’d see two blue colored pills if a song is labeled at more than one level.

I think it’s best to keep to just two colors, else it starts to be a little too much.
