    Hi AJ, thanks for the feedback. I heard the late notes too. After a few re-recordings for other issues, I just had to go for it.

    Hi,

    So that’s how it works! I really wanted to play ‘Out In The North‘ for the challenge a few months back but could not figure out how to play it even with the vid tutorial. The Triplet Strum course puts it in reach. But first, baby steps with the Etude.

    I do have to work on keeping my strum hand from sliding back to the sound hole.

    I wasn’t going to post this month since my last few submissions frustrated me. While this piece was easy to memorize, the harmonics just wouldn’t work while recording. I decided to go audio only for this one. Please excuse the poor cut-in. I keep forgetting to leave extra time before starting to play/record in GarageBand.

    Cheers ~ x

    @AJ TY for feedback. It will take a while to get to tempo but I’ll keep working at it and smoothing out the rough spots. Cheers.

    I too had a rough time with this one. In the end, I decided to focus more on keeping my timing consistent and slooow and working through any flubs. I really had a hard time fretting properly and getting any good sound out of the higher notes up the neck.

    Good luck everyone!

    @anirbaf
    Thank you as well for your detailed explanations and drawings. This definitely helps me bridge some of the material covered in the Intervals & Chord Theory units of the Theory & Jamming course on this site & other info I’ve gathered. I’ll have to break it all down & digest it but good stuff.

    I’m sorry but I do not know about the Flight or TUS50 but here’s my two cents. I travel with a cheap composite Makala Dolphin uke and I love it because I don’t have to worry much about damaging or loosing it. The sound was meh out of the box but once I put some new strings on it, it sounded pretty good. It’s small enough to fit in my backpack. I don’t put it in a case because that would count against my carry-on limit. I use the thin sleeve cover it shipped with and pad it with my carry on clothing. It totally meets my needs for practicing and playing while traveling. Since the body is composite, I’m not too worried about temp/weather extremes but I haven’t played it in a very hot or humid environment yet.
    My vote is for the carbon fiber/plastic/composite models if you want to off-road with your uke. Like with any purchase, go with the one that sounds good and fits your budget.

    FYI, Kermit recently released a new “Rainbow Connection video”. I guess it was meat to be the next Rock Class arrangement. Enjoy.

    I would have preferred to get this in sooner but here it is. I worked a little more with a metronome after Stephen’s comments from last month and went over the finger frenzies many, many times. I look forward to any comments for improvement.

    Congrats Anne. Looking forward to hearing you play that tenor.

    @Stephen
    – thnx for the feedback. I’ve been applying it towards the April challenge and hope to go back to Lagrima to work on the transitions to play in time, but a little slower that the intended bpm.

    Hello
    Here’s my attempt at Lagrima on high g. I recently restrung my uke and couldn’t bring myself to change to low g. I too struggled a lot with the fingering so could not work on timing as much. I’m going to keep working at it. One day I’ll have another uke with a low g and I will be able to play this piece.
