This one has fallen really well for me. I had planned on playing for the next 30 days without any tab or chords being given to me. The reason? I want to develop my ability to play by ear.

    With that in mind…

    Execution
Aim to improve my ability to play by ear (riffs and chords).

    Application
I’ll be working my way through a list of 50 songs. I’ll do my very best to work them out before checking to see if I’m correct. Only when I think I have it will I move on. I’ll be noting down every song that I work out in a notebook.

    Evaluation
This one should be relatively easy to evaluate, I’ll make a note of how successful I’ve been on a weekly basis. This will allow me to see where I’m improving and where I need more work.

    Looking forward to it!

Totally forgot to put I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER on my entry, probably too late now.

    Good luck everyone!

I just saw Andrew’s post on Instagram, I didn’t realise the deadline was today, I almost missed it! Here’s my effort at The First Noel…

    Merry Christmas everyone!

I’m challenging myself this month and going with St James Infirmary. Maybe it’s a bridge too far but we’ll see.

    Great version jakeypoo!

Kayleigh, I’m with you on that. It happens to me every single time I try and record! Well played, I like the way you hold your ukulele, it’s very Bill Wyman.

I had a blast at fingerpicking etude no.13 – to mix it up I played it with a little swing, I think it sounds pretty interesting that way…

Some great videos and performances here, I’ve really enjoyed participating in my first challenge. Only a few days left but you’ve all inspired me to try No.13 too.

We’ll see if I can learn it in time!

    Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the feedback, it’s really good to get something that I would never have spotted myself. Thanks again!

First ever challenge entry for me. This was a fun one to try and play – I thought I’d make a bit of a progress video…

Hi Andrew, thanks for the help. Your version sounds great but I’m a little unsure why the D# has a B above it rather than an A. Also why does the B have an F# and not just an F above it?

Sorry if these are stupid questions and thanks for the help!

Yes I am Andrew, well worked out without any indication of timing!

So with harmonizing by fifths (the method you mentioned) I would be still counting upwards to get to the fifth but playing a lower version of that note?

    Thanks
