bar chords problem

tying to make my first Bm7 bar chord. All but the 2dn string ring clear. Does this happen to other people? It sounds awful. G string rings nice! C string? sweet. E string…dud! but then the A string sounds good! more pressure doesn’t seem to help. using my middle finger works terrific! but I don’t think that is they way to play the chord. Has anyone had this problem and overcome it?

Check out the barre chord lesson from our Beginner’s Course. If it’s not ringing out, it’s due to not applying enough pressure (which you tried) or due to incorrect form.
