ParticipantHi all,
Just found this thread, awesome that you’re asking the members for their input on the content of this website! Obviously already incredibly happy with what’s offered on here, but if I had to pick one thing to learn that I can’t seem to find anywhere else on the interwebz (apart from through private live online lessons), is a course on fingerpicking arrangements with alternating bass (often used in blues, e.g. freight train!!!). I guess it’s also very linked to the ragtime mentioned by @ukesilver π
Also very much agree with the adding a female teacher for complex fingerpicking & vocal. If you could somehow convince Del Rey to do a course that would be a dream. Looking forward to what 2021 brings!

amylilleyMemberCan I just add that I’d love to see some arrangements for baritone ukulele π I have a beautiful baritone, but it is feeling neglected π

whollyprofitParticipantHey all, just wanted to throw in my request for some percussive ukulele lessons or hopefully even a full technique plan like the triplet course. Instead of patterns that have to be stuck to precisely, I’d prefer some interchangeable beats, patterns, and flourishes that can be used on the fly as accents or embellishments as I usually play with an improvisational style rather than strict arrangements. I’ve been loving everything so far and I can’t wait to see what you come up with o er the next year. Thanks so much! Happy holidays everyone!
edit: I’d love to see more low G content and it would also be very helpful to have different levels of the songs or even a basic melody for each that I can use to flesh out to my playing level. Many times I see songs that I would love to play but the arrangements are far beyond me and I don’t want to wait another year to be able to play some version it. Also, would it be possible to have the tabs appear onscreen during Andrews walkthrough lessons? It is there for discussing new bars but when you go back to play the whole measure “together”, the tabs aren’t onscreen so I can’t remember the longer whole that we just went over. Just a thought.

lhamiltonParticipantThanks for asking for lesson ideas, Andrew! It would be lovely to have some baritone, and more clawhammer and triplet strum technique pieces.

tsetsovaMemberI was wondering if we could have a class on arrangement? Iβve done basic arrangement on my own but itβs tricky to find more advanced techniques.

biancakParticipantWhen it comes to ukulele playing, 2020 was a fun year thanks to you π
Female teacher: Victoria Vox
Not only a brilliant performer but a great teacher, too. I attended a few workshops with her and she was so good at explaining the strumming patterns to match with the songs, plus how to modify them for the intro/outro and for the singing parts, the verses or chorusStyle: Ukulelezaza
You had Freight Train from him. But he has so many other songs in his booklets that Iβd like to learn. They are all with a similar technique in combining the melody and strumming but each comes with a different twist. Something with his style or from him would be fun.Cheers

brettboyParticipantHi RC101 Fam! I’m just throwing this out there. No problem if it doesn’t ever work out… but someday… I would love an intermediate-advanced level lesson for the original NES Dr. Mario music π
