MemberHi Andrew,
I LOVE what you’re doing. Believe it or not, I’ve been a member for over a year and just tried the Soundslice technology. It’s a giant value add.
Ukulele playing really helped me through 2020 by bringing more joy to my life. So I’m a huge fan of yours for making ukulele playing accessible to people. Thank you!!!!
My suggestion: Baritone Fingerstyle arrangements. There’s hardly any out there.
Keep up the great work into 2021. The world needs more joyful ukulele playing :).

ukuleleeParticipantHi Andrew and crew,
I’ve really enjoyed being a part of rock class 101. I’ve learned a lot, songs, inspiration and insight. One thing I’d really like to improve on next year is how to add fills, single or double note lead ins and outs between chords, and other fancy bits. I play with a couple uke groups and would just like to learn a few embellishments for the usual and popular uke songs and/or keys. ave a healthy, happy holiday season!

MemberFor 2021, is it possible to offer a feature where we can upload other tab into SoundSlice?

AndrewKeymaster@luv2uke – Unfortunately, no. But they do offer subscription plans to use their service. Take a look to see if that meets what you are looking for: https://www.soundslice.com/

kelsey91ParticipantHi!! Thank you guys for all your lessons! I was wondering if you could offer some more modern songs from different genres? I like to play a range of songs and it would be cool to play a fingerstyle version of a song that people will recognize !

gmflin8MemberI am so happy to have found rockclass101. I have learned a lot and really appreciate people’s sharing for motivation and inspiration. I joined in July but still a beginner. For me, the biggest frustrations are 1. songs are too hard (still too hard even after 5 months), and 2. I make no connection between what I (struggle to) play and the music theory behind it. I used to be able to kanikapila with cords. I don’t even remember those cords anymore/ Because the way the songs are arranged, they often don’t use traditional cords, plus we are doing more fingerstyle (that I still struggle to play.) So it just so seemed that there is no point for me to know the actual cords, as long as I could manage to play. If I can add one more frustration – some beautiful songs require a low G uke. I am not that good enough to invest in another uke.
So, if I could put in my request, I love to have more easier songs, and for each lesson, maybe blend in a little music theory here and there. It might be fun to have the same song arranged for difficult levels.
Keep up the good work. Thanks for listening.

rickeymikeMemberI’d like to see a lesson or two or three on corny/cheesy endings or riffs that we could all use to spice up our playing.

lisamccParticipantThank you for helping to keep me sane.. This year especially. I love the stuff you do. I love the new techniques and claw hammer was a hit for me and the ragtime.. But I would never have known to ask for it! I love being introduced to new things.. So any new techniques to spice up the playing would be great. . I would love some more flamenco, maybe some Rodrigo y gabrielle. Songs..i love singing but when the words and uke parts are on different sheets, I have difficulty putting them together. Jack Johnson was particularly hard. I guess singing won’t access all though. Some bossa nova or Latin jazz would be nice. Have a well deserved break and a Merry Christmas. I look forward to adventures in the new year.

sir_anzalotParticipantI’ve been here for roughly 8 months now and have very much enjoyed my time 🙂
The array of lessons to be learned here and the teachers who do them are absolutely awesome so cheers to all of you guys! What I really loved this year was the triplet style content. I’d love to dig even deeper into that.
I already made some suggestions regarding the forum which could use a little fine tuning a while ago but that might be a secondary issue. What I personally would be interested in (also already posted about that) would be a somehwat comprehensive beginners course revolving around percussive style, to add to strumming and fingerpicking alike. I don’t know if that’s out of reach here or even interests anyone except me but just to add my 2 cents 😉December 20, 2020 at 9:17 am #43037
rickeymikeMemberMaybe adding to the beginner’s course or technique toolbox:
A guide to successfully using the tab player to learn a song.

willymacParticipantAndrew,
Congratulations for a great year and thank you. I’ve learned a tremendous amount. As to suggestions, I’d love to see an Introduction to Hawaiian music course that teaches the technique and approach behind the songs. That’d be most cool.
Cheers,

amylilleyMemberI’m so pleased I found your site, I was searching everywhere to learn this playing style until I found you on YouTube!
Everything you’re planning sounds so exciting – yes please!
Personally, I’d love to learn some of the hits from this year, the songs I’m dancing to on the radio. I’d love to learn ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’, I keep requesting that one I find it such an uplifting and fun song 😅

ukesilverParticipantHello everybody!
First of all a huge thank you to the RC101 crew! 🤟🏻
I’m pretty much new in this community so I have a lot to catch up with previous lessons and arrangements, but something I’d really like to see under the RC101 Christmas tree is some more ragtime lessons/songs: I think it’s a fun and engaging gateway to jazz (which is awesome on ukulele) and I guess it would also suit a number of low-G arrangements! 🙂
Really looking forward to the new year!
