nat-ukeParticipant@leb397 and @grannieannie – thanks so much 🥰. The mic was really easy, but maybe I will post a short video (on the page where we were talking about wireless mics) on mine and just a little tip or two that I figured out.
I am hooked on this video software package. Im going to spring for purchasing it next month. I asked ChatGPT to give me a set of 12 fundamental skills, one to learn each week, in a logical progression that would make me more proficient and more confident in using the software. One a week, so as not to overwhelm myself. You might try that with learning new software.
Oh and yes, my friends thoroughly enjoyed the music video I made. That made the effort worthwhile.

leb397Participant@nat-uke oh please do post helpful hints. Im about ready to record so it would be helpful. Also how cool to ask chatGPT! I’m not proficient in that at all. I’ll look at that software too. Others use GarageBand, I think, and I don’t have that. All depends on my deep dive I want to take ☺️🤔
How nice the couple loved it… I had no doubt.August 25, 2025 at 6:35 pm #75565jasdel
ParticipantI had tons of fun learning this piece. This version of Betty and Dupree, a traditional blues tune, was shared in a Ukulele Magazine article by Fred Sokolow.
It’s been great to hear everyone’s creative choices this month! 🙂

leb397ParticipantGosh some great entries
@lhamilton, you didn’t disappoint! Beautiful playing and still amazed by your ability to whistle like that.
@jasdel I love the slide sound! How cool that is on the ukulele. I just heard Jake Simabukuro play a song with the slide. Very nice.
@marianne so lovely. I had watched Marco Cirillo lesson and was mesmerized by the sound. So beautiful. I’ve tried using my pointer as well as middle finger with the Spanish technique and you make it look easy with your pointer. Love it.
@malku2603 I hope your thumb heals. Lovely keyboard.August 27, 2025 at 4:31 pm #75581August 27, 2025 at 6:10 pm #75583
karenjParticipantHere’s my August submission of Crossing Hemispheres which is the capstone piece for the Next Level Strumming. Matt is such a great teacher and I hightly recommend this course. I worked hard on this but it was a lot of fun. And I also worked hard on relaxing my perfectionist tendencies by limiting the time to record the submission, and focusing on progress and fun. So here it is. I’m looking forward to see what everyone else has been doing this month.
Andrew, congratulations again on your RC 101 milestone. I hope you had a nice, well deserved break.
Take care,

nat-ukeParticipant@marianne that was great, very expressive. I’ve been looking for an other Spanish style song. This is nice

Participant@leb397 Thank you! I really like that sound, too, and loved playing around with a slide. I might have watched almost every slide ukulele video on YouTube haha. It’s a lot of fun! 🙂

grannieannieParticipantOh, @marianne, you play with such elegance and feeling! And that beautiful black uke is elegant, too.
@katazumiri: You treated us to an entire orchestra with that piece, and so fun to listen to.
@jasdel: Love the sound of that slide piece – another cool technique to put on my someday list. -
