    Everyone’s submissions are so, so good. Enjoying them greatly.

    @jbmills07
    Regina has been blessed to have such a good support in your friendship. Sounds it is mutual. Maybe this special uke should be named after her. I’d say “Queenie” or something with queen in it since Regina means Queen in Italian ☺️. Anyone else with an idea for its name?
    I have prayed for her and will continue to do so for you both and your families.

    @ukefinlandgirl
    That was so cool and mysterious sounding. Your uke sounds really nice.

    @misterbones
    I really enjoyed that. Indian music and singing is next level. We’re planning a trip there this year. Maybe I can come back with an instrument. Any suggestions are welcome.

    @gi_gi_ Wow, that’s exciting! Instrument suggestion? How about a set of bansuri flutes? Should be quite affordable, luggage-friendly, and can sound really magical if you know how to play them. Check out the vidoe below. If there are no volume and/or cost limitations, my favorite would probably be a sarod.

    @misterbones The sarod calls me too. It’s ironic that to play the uke your left hand needs no nails but to play the sarod you need nails 🙂 It’s beautiful. We’ll see how it goes. I’ll post whatever we bring back. Thanks for the videos.

    Week 3 Progress Report.
    LOTS OF SCALES!! Many hours of practice using C MAJ up and down the fretboard. Am Pentatonic and C major Pentatonic. The EP 0006 Solo over and over (and over) I have it pretty good @ 90% to date.
    I have completed Module 3 Unit 2 (Solo Analysis).

    I was hesitant to begin the Unit 3.2 because of Andrew’s criteria…1) know the Solo “without thinking” and 2) “memorize the Scale patterns”. I felt it was time to move on and do understand the Analysis. Now…how to apply that knowledge…hmmmm.

    @Andrew
    The lick meme compilation was too funny. Loved it. Now I will try to learn it.
    Solos to emulate: George Harrison – “Something” Jake S – “A Place in the Sun” Aldrine G – “Stand By Me” Andrew A – “A Duet From the Heart” (got that one down)

    @misterbones, thank you so much for that explanation! Very interesting. Also, the classical Indian music is so b.a., in that video, breathtaking and mesmerizing. Incredible skill. I would love to see that live. I haven’t been to many concerts in my life, tbh, maybe only technically five or six concerts: Mumford & Sons, Nickelback (LOL – they had a few bops, but my sister wanted to see them), Vienna Teng, this small town / local bluegrass group, and this Australian group that only sings the Psalms called Sons of Korah. There may be more that I’m forgetting, but not many at all. Oh, and I went to one local orchestra concert. But yes, the sound and style of that is incredible. I do think you captured the feel of that with ukulele. Do you think you’ll share the other ragas here once you learn them? Also, @gi_gi_ that’s so cool that you’re going there! You defs should get those flutes. The sound of those is so majestic. 😊

    @The_Bumble_Bard Sure, I can post them in the Showcase Your Playing section once I got them down. Five or six concerts – I think I’ve already managed to do that in one day 🙂 I go out to see something (music, theater, orchestra, opera, ballet) pretty much every night. Luxury of living downtown in a big city, there’s a million things going on all the time, and most of it within a 10 minute bike ride. Sometimes I wonder how I even manage to practice playing anything at all on the uke.

    So, here is my attempt.

    I was mainly focused on “The Pogues ‘Dirty Old Town’ on TV 1986” but also a little on “The Pogues – Dirty old town, live 2012”.

    As I don’t sing, I limited myself to a verse – bridge – outro.

    Many thanks to Lars, who let me play his drums and kept me company with a tambourine.

    Have a nice day!

    @katazumiri, amazing and magical! I loved that! 😊🥰

    @misterbones
    , it’s hard to fathom seeing five or six concerts in one day, but I guess it’s physically possible… 😂 That’s really cool that you get to do that though. The night scene in my town is questionable to put it nicely. 😂 It would be really cool to hear the other ragas you learn! 😊

    The tremolo practice is going okay. I do think I’ve at least increased my comfort with the technique, if not the speed by that much. I think what I’ll do is record the two things I’ve been using to practice the technique with. I did technically create a song using the technique, though it isn’t an original. Hmmm. There’s still time, maybe I can come up with something. 😂

    @katazumiri that was so much fun to listen to and focus on each instrument. Loved the strum patterns. You truly are a one person band- such talent. 👏👏👏

    Hola Uke Friends!

    I wanted to improve my Ubass playing skills this month and took on RC101’s excellent Axel F lesson. I’m a total amateur when it comes to recording and multitracking video so duets are always a struggle for me to get dialed in. That being said, here’s my best attempt at this funky, retro, 1980’s synth classic 🙂
