AndrewKeymaster@brettboy – That was awesome Brett! Tight playing and great timing and groove! I’ll send this to Stephen, I’m sure he’d love to see your bass work 🙂

leb397Participant@brettboy that was great Brett. Having payed Axel F as my entry it was fun to see you pair the base. 👏👏👏

ParticipantThe month is almost over already. I wanted to get more comfortable playing Blue Moon, and to master it’s tricky parts (the pull-offs, the one triplet strum, etc.). After three weeks of working with a structured practice with technical exercises, I think I have made some progress.
Here is today’s version:
And here is the version that I submitted in the October challenge 🙂

lhamiltonParticipantHi,
I managed to record my bass directly to the macbook into Garage Band using my iRig as I recorded the video on my iPad. I then worked with the audio and video to match them up. It was an interesting exercise. I’m getting more comfortable with the bass and really enjoyed Stephen’s arrangement of Gabriel’s oboe.

AndrewKeymaster@frederic – Wow! BIG improvement in all the aspects you mentioned but also in feel, tempo, note/chord clarity, and recording quality. Bravo 👏
@lhamilton – Beautifully played, Linda! I will def send this to Stephen 🙂January 26, 2025 at 9:59 am #65320
lhamiltonParticipantWow! Thanks @Andrew!
One thing I learned in syncing video with audio by the way is that it really helps to tap my uke a few times before starting to play. I can then line up those taps from the lower-quality video audio with the higher quality direct-to-computer audio recording to match everything up before zeroing the audio from the video.

anyon1ParticipantHi All!
I’ve enjoyed seeing/hearing the wide variety of goals and progress everyone has made! I worked on All You Need is Love this month. I picked it for the uplifting message for the new year and to work on pull offs and stretch chords (which continue to be ongoing challenges…).

nelsonlin2021ParticipantGlad to hear everyone making good progress on their goals this month. I finished my harmonics course (highly recommended!) last week and able to play the capstone piece. Now I’m on my stretch goal to learn Mr Sandman. It has taken me many days to be able to work the harmonics with the tapping technique but it sounds amazing when I manage to get it pop. I am now onto learning the last 16 bars of Mr Sandman. There are some tricky chord shapes to master. Hoping I will be able to achieve minimum level of fluency for my performance this month. Cheers!

marianneParticipantGreat playing everybody and thanks a lot @leb397! 🙂
Here’s my rendition of Bossa Nova. I did not get a chance to learn the lead part due to travel (but will in the near future) but I’m happy I managed to progress to a 100% speed.

ParticipantWell, here it is.
Etude 21 – ArpeggiosTrying to record something all the way through with no mistakes is certainly an unforgiving exercise.
