Hello 🙂 This month I’ve chosed Over the River and Through the Woods. I’m from Poland, so we don’t celebrete Thanksgiving, but this song is still well known from movies and tv shows. 😁

This is my November submission of La Gitanita .
I know I can do better but I need to submit this before the Thanksgiving chaos starts in my house.😊
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

leb397Participant@Andrew thank you. Totally agree. I struggled barring and muting the A string. Fun strum to get the hang of.

La Gitanita for this month. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!November 26, 2025 at 6:14 pm #77511
AndrewKeymaster@kanique – Beautiful performance 👏
@lynnzo – Nicely played! As you continue practicing, try giving the picado picking technique a shot, it’ll help your right hand move more efficiently 🙂
@rgillof – Great playing, Rich! As you continue practicing, I’d focus mostly on Melody C. Great job overall on timing, tempo, and feel!November 27, 2025 at 1:17 am #77539November 27, 2025 at 3:00 pm #77540

ParticipantThanks Andrew, I did practice it and liked it but I don’t know where it went when I turned on the video recorder . I’m going to continue working on this because I really liked the song.

ParticipantThanks for hosting this challenge. I found it motivating and also joyful to play the tune that’s challenging enough but also doable and enjoyable. Thank you for composing this tune and sharing with us!

Here’s my go at Fingerpicking Etude No 28. I still need to work the kinks out and somehow get comfortable with that last finger salad of a chord (love that expression, Andrew!), but I’ll keep working on it. Thanks for another good challenge.

AndrewKeymaster@brettboy – I literally said from the opening phrase “It already sounds great!” 🙂
Always a pleasure to listen to your performances, Brett!
@cheun133 – You played it beautifully and I liked your use of rubato too! Well done 👏And TY for the kind words!
@mysticrick – What a fun take Rick, love the tempo boost! Great idea!
@grannieannie – Really great take, Annie! Your triplet picking technique sounds great and you nailed the feel and vibe of the piece!November 29, 2025 at 1:12 pm #77609
anyon1ParticipantHi All,
I’m a premium member.
I worked on La Gitanita this month since there were several techniques to learn. It turns out the picado picking technique seems very unnatural to me, and the rasgueado strum was hard to do while keeping up the tempo of this song, so I ended up focusing on getting the piece to 100% speed (which has been a challenge for me in recent months…). I think I got a bit of the harmonics sound too. Thanks for a fun lesson!
