When I saw La Gitanita I had to do it because I first learnt this in July 2020 and I wanted to see how I had improved since then. The answer is a fair bit – so thank you Andrew!!
Apologies for the missing fingers, but I had to use my phone to do the recording and forgot how narrow the screen is…

AndrewKeymaster@anyon1 – Very nicely played, Adriana! I only have two suggestions. First, try lightening your percussive taps on the body of the uke. Second, for the tapped harmonic, angle your attack with the index finger so it lands 12 frets above the A chord:
0 (12)
0 (12)
1 (13)
2 (14)If that feels like too much to coordinate right now, you can simplify it by just tapping the 12th fret on the A string. Jump into the tapping lessons in the harmonics course for help with this technique.
@yukalele – That was awesome David, well done! 👏November 30, 2025 at 1:58 am #77643

I worked on something totally new for me – “triplet picking technique” – Etude #28. What a cool song and technique (thanks AJ for your piece). This was definitely a stretch song (literally in part of the song – haha). Not quite sure how to go about making it better. I think part of it is perhaps hand strength. (I gave up recording and just called it ‘done’ because my left hand/wrist was not happy with the repetitions – that and it’s Nov 29th haha). I know some notes weren’t clear. On the positive, I loved the helpful advice in the instructional video from Andrew that you don’t need to move everything in the left hand all at once – gradually build the chord – this made it much easier to get to new positions without losing pace.
I’d like to revisit this one in the future, but my left hand needs a break!

This might be a duplicate post because mine seems to have disappeared. I’m not sure how to do embeds so this might just be a link. I only discovered this contest yesterday and I’ve only been playing since August so this is a bit rubbish (There’s also a bit cut out of the beginning of the video where I talk about my new ukulele, hence the part way through start).

peichingParticipantHello Rock Class 101
Here is my participation in the November 2025 member challenge. Thank you very much for teaching how to play the triplet. It was a challenge to learn it but it was well worth it.
Here is my attempt on Over the River and Through the Woods.Best regards 🙂

ParticipantHello !
After a five months hiatus, here is my work on the Fingerpicking Etude 25.
I had planned to switch the strings to low-G but did not do it in the end, so it does not sound like the original melody, but still pretty.November 30, 2025 at 12:55 pm #77652
anyon1Participant@Andrew Thanks for the feedback! The harmonics course looks like a good goal for the new year.

This month I went for La Gitanita. I love flamenco! Unfortunately I lack some speed as always. Snail playing the uke. 😉

‘Tis the season, getting into the holiday spirit with ‘Over the River and Thru The Woods’….sweet little tune….thanks to Matt and RockClass101 for this arrangement….Now that Turkey Day has come and gone, I have a minute to post…..enjoying everyone’s posts…..
In response to an earlier conversation, I find every tune, regardless of its level has offered some type of challenge. This tune is a level 1…..and there were many challenges, including consistent rhythm, thumb placement, hand movement, strum pattern and of course the triplets……so still a challenge…….Thanks RockClass101.

And a rusty Premium member at that 🤓 I uploaded this but I know it isn’t good. I just didn’t want to let another month go by without posting.
Hello everyone. You all did great.

Hello RC101, and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the States!
@gi_gi_ I loved your performance! Looks like we both went with the rest stroke for our picado picking! Here’s my take on La Gitanita. Both the rasgueado and the picado were challenging, but I really enjoyed working on them. I had some nervous energy during the recording, so I’ll need to go back and work through it bar by bar – definitely still plenty of practice ahead.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
