AndrewKeymaster@annyuke – @misterbones is spot on, for 5 months your playing is outstanding! Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s working!
And the only mistake I hear is measure 11, the first double stop (2 note pluck) should last a quarter note, not an 8th.

AndrewKeymasterThe easiest change would be to play it as a regular open A string ๐
And if you need help with the tapping technique, check this lesson from our Harmonics Course.

AndrewKeymaster@brettboy – They are both so different from one another that it’s hard to choose ๐
Kemp’s, overall, is def easier to play. Maybe it just comes down to if you want to play a beautiful love song or a fun, bouncy jig.

AndrewKeymaster@annyuke – Both melodies were beautifully played. Well done! ๐
@mysticrick – It sounds amazing with the effects!
@janaq1 – I remember having to practice a ton for this tune to get the timing steady. It’s def tricky. Foot tapping is the best way to get a more natural feel, which you got!
@monika101 – The interesting thing about a performance that takes 1,000 takes is that each take gives you an opportunity to listen back and to refine your performance. Which it sounds like you did, because I hear nothing to critic. It was very well played!Try recording your practices. That way you can refine it as you practice instead of on the day of recording. That’s a tip that I myself should follow more ๐

AndrewKeymasterFriendly Reminder – The deadline for receiving an entry into the giveaway is tonight at 11:59 PM ET (check your local time zone).

AndrewKeymaster@carynjoy – I thought your performance was fantastic! Your timing is excellent, and the notes and chords have a nice sustain to them. Your tempo is around 80 BPM, while Mattโs is just under 100 BPM, so youโre not far off from him. I think youโre at the stage where you could start pushing yourself to play a little bit faster to help increase speed. Try playing to a click at 85, or even 90.
And I’ll be sharing your performance today on our socials ๐

AndrewKeymasterHi Monika, which one are you working on? The slap/pluck version taught in this lesson, or the one that is used with strumming technique?
This video shows the difference between the two.
For the slap/pluck, you will come straight down and hit the strings and body of the uke. For the strumming chunk, you’ll just hit the strings.
