@jdouglas – Great fingerpicking and tone, James! For the Travis picking pattern, I’m hearing you play the rhythm as what’s shown in measure 1 here, instead of what’s used in the song (shown in measure 2):

You can see that you’ve swapped the quarter note hit to beat 4, when it should occur on beat 1. Nothing wrong with doing this, as long as you realize the change happened.

@jedart – The way you’re doing the chuck is the traditional way, as opposed to the slap/pluck method used in the lesson. Both work, and it’s really just an optional choice as to which you prefer to use. Playing sounds great, I’d say you aced it!

@lhamilton – Very nicely played Linda! Every harmonic rings cleanly and beautifully. The only thing I’d work on is playing the hits that mix regular notes + harmonics a little faster so they sound more arpeggiated. In your video, for ex, that would be the hit at 23 and 25 seconds.

@cyman_t – Performance sounded great! With these techniques, it’s easy to speed up while playing them rather than maintaining a steady tempo. I hear them played a little fast in spots, for ex, the slide at 18 seconds in your performance. Try playing along to a click and listening/watching out for rushing.
