@emiliano – That was awesome Emiliano! Def gonna share this in tomorrow’s email!
@lucauka – That was amazing, Luca! You’re making incredible progress in your playing. I want you to try practicing with Matt in the tab player. But take it section by section and slow the tempo down. Try your best to match his playing 100%. And check out this video/article. It talks about why this is important. It was one of the big takeaways I got from music college π
@leb397 – Way to go Louisa! Great take! I thought your playing was very clean. I would focus on smoothing out the transitions where there was a little hesitation. Keep up the great work!
@deadbuggy – So much fun to watch and listen to Sara! You played it with such great feel! π
@kittycatlin – Awesome performance, Cat! You nailed the fun vibes of this tune! One suggestion, in bar 12 (last bar before the Outro), the second note (open A), keep that one held out for a half note. I heard a quarter in your take, which turns the bar into 3/4. So a half would keep us at 4/4 throughout the entire tune πAugust 16, 2024 at 5:56 pm #63124shelleParticipantWhere is the winner of the Uke giveaways announced. I can’t find them. Curious!
shelleAugust 16, 2024 at 6:02 pm #63125madz_about_ukeParticipantSo much FUN playing this song and what makes it more fun (and more challenging) is to play it with your FRIENDS on the background.

August 16, 2024 at 6:06 pm #63127AndrewKeymaster@shelle – The winner is announced in the forum post. Check the last, or second to last page, and you’ll see it there π
@madz_about_uke – Loved it! β€οΈAugust 16, 2024 at 6:12 pm #63128shelleParticipantOk found it! Thank you!!
August 17, 2024 at 12:26 am #63129grannieannieParticipant@leb397: It didn’t go unnoticed that you’re wearing just the right shirt to accompany that song! And I love your opening drama, @dead buggy. I don’t have a Sponge Bob shirt a la @kittycatlin, nor am I up to singing along with the aplomb of @madz_about_uke, so maybe I should just start my entry with a menacing “Where are my sponges?” But first I have to get up to at least fifty percent speed before I can expect to post anything.
Great playing, everyone!
August 17, 2024 at 8:34 am #63130leb397Participant@Andrew thank you. I’ll continue to work on that transition – lots of practice.
@The_bumble_bard much appreciated comments. The reason I continued with the Uke is because of RC101 teaching the ability to pick a song so you don’t have to sing. In the July “write your own song” On of my verses says just that. I’m loving the different TV tunes! Can’t wait to hear what you pick. AND did you see there is a new lesson Wildwood with claw hammer! I want to work on that!!
@grannieannie THANK YOU for noticing my shirt (ha) I had to dig deep in my closet for that (and it still fit) Appreciate the kind comments. “Where are my sponges” could be your next song writing title.August 17, 2024 at 8:16 pm #63131The_Bumble_BardParticipant@leb397, it’s kind of funny that we had the same thought with that about singing and uke. π I forgot you included that in your song, that’s really funny. I had a similar experience, how the creations on RC101 showed what’s possible to do on uke and the nearly endless possibilities with it. Before here, I could only find not really well made ukulele tabs, and I also wanted to create my own but didn’t really have the tools or knowledge to do so, even though I certainly had the will. π Thank you so much! Hoping I can get an entry together this weekend possibly! π Yessss!!! I saw that, I was so excited to see a new clawrhammer here! You should try it, the first part isn’t too hard, but the second part gets a little tricky, but is also really fun. π ππ
August 19, 2024 at 8:11 am #63156gi_gi_ParticipantAugust 19, 2024 at 1:54 pm #63223leb397Participant@the_bumble_bard well Iβve heard you sing and recall it was nice. I donβt have a strong singing voice but feel if people can keep on key/tune, go for it π. Especially in the privacy of your ownspaceβ¦ I sing best there π€£π€£
Ok Iβm going to work on wildwoodβ¦ we shall see. Maybe it will be on next monthβs challenge.
@gi_gi_ I agree with you, that Emiliano will soon be teaching us!- This reply was modified 3 weeks, 5 days ago by leb397.
August 19, 2024 at 3:39 pm #63228misterbonesParticipantHere’s my take on Hawaii Five-O, my pick for this month. Took the chance to break in this new toy of mine, which I got recently on a whim. Opens a whole new can of worms, I guess. Oh well.
Please exclude me from the prize drawing this month. Thanks!
August 19, 2024 at 4:47 pm #63229The_Bumble_BardParticipant@misterbones, that was EPIC! Well played! Very cool with the bass! π₯°ππ
@leb397, thank you so much, friend! ππHahaha facts! There’s no time that you sound better than when you’re singing alone somewhere. I’ll sing in the car to try to “practice” when I have tried to sing. π You’re right, it’s all in fun, anyway! ππ Nice with Wildwood, it’s very fun once you get going with it! A learning curve (?) at first but once you’ve got it, you’ve got it! I think it might be part of next month’s challenge, I sense it (I asked @Andrew at one point) . ππAugust 19, 2024 at 7:23 pm #63233misterbonesParticipant@The_Bumble_Bard Thanks a lot!
August 19, 2024 at 7:23 pm #63234AndrewKeymaster@misterbones – I agree with Rachael, that was awesome Michael!
@The_Bumble_Bard & @leb397 – Yep, next month’s challenge will have all of the new duet songs we release this month πAugust 19, 2024 at 8:50 pm #63235leb397Participant@andrew – YEAH
@misterbones you def nailed it. FYI That was what I was aiming for π some-day… I’ll keep practicing. -
