    Here’s my premium member submission for August. The first thing I learned from this challenge is that I should have paid attention earlier to Andrew’s advice that we regularly record songs we’re working on, as part of our practice. I haven’t been doing that, so after my first session when I thought I had something I was happy with, I noticed when playing it back that I was missing the A string on some of the chords. So I went back to it today and concentrated on that. Now I see that I need to work on keeping my fingers closer to the fretboard. I’m also working on my hammer-ons, especially with the ring finger.

    I love seeing the amazing talent in this group – you’re all an inspiration!

    I attempted Hawaii 50 this month. I had a challenging time with it. My fingers aren’t moving as fast as my brain tells them to and well I am frustrated.

    Thanks for the fun show tune that reminded me of my youth. 😎

    Hi everyone,
    For me this is last minute (it’s quite late in Germany). This month I didn’t have too much time for practicing as I couldn’t take my ukulele with me during my vacation. But there’s no way I would ruin my series because of that. So here it is, Frolic, hope you enjoy! πŸ™‚

    I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER.

    Game of Throne Theme was the song that drew me to Rock class platform at the first place when I started learning Ukulele many years ago. It was way over my skill level to play then. I’m so glad it’s come full circle and I’m finally able to play this song in this month’s challenge.

    Hi all!

    Another last minute post from Germany! I recorded today morning but then I visited my parents and did the video editing afterwards. πŸ˜…

    I didn’t plan to participate in this month’s challenge as I don’t watch TV (or netflix, amazon series in general) and so I am not really familiar with the tunes (the arrangements are great, though!). The easiest of the arrangements requires singing and I am a bad singer… so I thought I just skip this challenge. But then I thought I could maybe play the melody on piano to dodge the singing part. So I figured out the melody and put the uke part and the piano part together. 😊 I am totally fine with this not counting as an entry. πŸ˜…

    Edit: Okay so I decided I just go for it and post a video of me singing. πŸ˜… I wasn’t happy with my recordings though because when I sing, it always sounds like I’m whispering or just talking (I guess because I don’t want to be heard and I am not loud enough). So I looked up some warm up excercises for singing and recorded again. I can actually hear a difference in my voice before and after the excercises. I kinda like the “lip roll” thing lol. My voice is still quiet (not to mention in pitch πŸ˜…) but well you can’t learn to sing in a day haha. πŸ˜‚

    I am a premium member

    I have wanted to tackle Game of Thrones since I joined, and I thought maybe I could take it on this month, but by the time I had practiced all the parts and working on the hard transitions, it was the end of the month and putting it all together is quite a challenge! I should likely have slowed way down, but I felt I made more mistakes when I did that lol. So anyways, lots of errors in this one, but I hope to go at it again in a future challenge!
    Everyone did amazing this month as always!

    Here is my cover of “I’ll Be There For You”
    love this song and I’d been wanting to learn it for a while so THANKS RC101.
    Notice my T-Shirt… all online Ukulele Teachers, see if you know them all.
    I think they got together at NAMM a few years back (pre-pandemic) and made this t-shirt.

    This is way late, but no worries. Learned this a while ago, so it’s an older video.

    Love this rendition. Thanks Andrew!

    @johanna2509 Funny, I have the same issues with the singing part. But I’m not as brave as you. Well done! πŸ™‚

    @kelsey91 – Beautiful performance Kelsey! I really enjoyed it πŸ™‚

    @grannieannie
    – Great job catching that chord issue! That’s why I always recommend recording practice sessions when you reach performance level.

    Your performance sounded fantastic! From here, I’d suggest playing along with a click track. It’ll help you keep everything steady, as I noticed a bit of hesitation in some spots. Shouldn’t take much more practice, sounds like you’re almost there!

    @leslieb
    – Well done, Leslie! I’d suggest focusing on memorizing the piece and practicing one section at a time. Try playing along with Steven in the tab player to help reinforce it.

    @bibilele
    – Aced it! The only thing I’d work on from here is increasing the tempo. But truly wonderful playing Bianca, great feel throughout πŸ™‚

    @nelsonlin2021
    – Your progress has been nothing short of astounding. Comparing this performance to your earlier ones really shows how far you’ve come. Keep up the amazing work, Nelson!

    @johanna2509
    – Both performance were awesome Johanna! Great singing and playing all around πŸ‘

    @jbmills07
    – I thought you did really well Justin! Performance sounded great! When I was working on it, I felt like the main (verse) theme had a challenging picking pattern, b/c it didn’t follow a repetitive picking pattern like the second (chorus) theme does. That was what tripped me up, but at the same time, made it a fun challenge!

    @maryjanew
    – Love the shirt and you nailed it! Excellent performance MJ! πŸ™‚

    @rickkhan
    – Nice job, Rick! You should definitely add this one back to your repertoire if it’s not already in there.

    Yay, congrats, @shmu88! That uke is really cute! 😊

    All the other entries posted were so, so good! Such a talented group of people. @johanna2509, yours turned out really lovely, both the piano version and the singing! I mean, it’s no cats singing, but you know. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ’• At some point you should share your “cat edition” of a song. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

    @swissconsinboy
    , thank you! 😊 Agreed, I often miss having cats around. They’re wonderful critters. Hopefully some day I’ll be able to have them again. 😸 Really great job with The Office theme and your description was funny! πŸ˜…

    @brettboy – I was gobsmacked by your two – count ’em, two! – versions of this piece. But you have to tell us: what exactly is that thing at the very end?
